But may not be practical for small items.\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i>Single dipole tag antenna \u2013 may be orientation sensitive with linearly polarized reader antennas<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i>Dual dipole tag antenna \u2013 less orientation sensitive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i><strong>Material tag is placed on or near<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i>Water, moist materials, aqueous liquids \u2013 can detune the tag, must tune specifically and create offset from the surface<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i>Metal \u2013 detunes the tag, must tune specifically and create offset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i><strong>Tag processor type (\u201cchip\u201d)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 chips differ by manufacturer, by processing speed, sensitivity,\u00a0memory\u00a0size and attachment to the antenna.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-caret-right\"><\/i><strong>Tag antenna impedance<\/strong>\u00a0has to match the impedance of the integrated circuit (IC) over a desired\u00a0bandwidth\u00a0for best performance.
